Teenager

Teenager
When did we cross the line
From pure to evil
Sins turning into
A vile fever

Contagious
Broken
Angered words that come across

Hollow,
Meaningless
We always feel lost

When did we forget
The beauty other words
Have to emboss
On a soul
On a mind
“Connected
Uplifting”
These words are tossed

From a place of ignorance
Where pain was never intentional
Turning into knowledge
Where hate is seen to be commendable

Conflict
Hurt family
As we forget childhood manners-
Pain we inflict
Flowing
Like it’s all that matters

We all have tactics
We all shy away
Faking a smile
A glare coming your way

When did our heart become so torn
Where we would rather have a touch

Even if cold

Than warm hands
Guiding us
Embracing us
As warmth bleeds on

Touching a soul
Underneath its coffin-
To give it a name

Of more than the lonely ghost

You see today
