Loyalty
Hold on
Don’t run,
There’ll always be someone else shining ...
But not the sun
Can we count on the person
To not look
Not be tempted by its cruel allure
Can loyalty grasp their heart,
More than an image that will never last?
Nothing is perfect...
Like the first week’s spark
It will dissolve,
But remnants of love will not
So can that hold us through the dark?
Where roots are to the soil,
And ever
Is for us
